Brian & I honeymooned in Peru and loved it..... we were there the whole time, and did have a couple days hiking around Machu Pichu. We didn't do the trail, decided we didn't want to get with a bad group, but it will be wonderful! We did love hiking right there, especially the hike up the peak just on the edge of Machu Pichu - you have to get there first thing in the morning since they only let like 70 people up in a day, and you have to sign in. The views are amazing, so unique and worth it - it is called Huayna Picchu - see: http://www.destination360.com/south-america/peru/huayna-picchu
